This morning I did the BodyRock Set Fire Wo (http://www.bodyrock.tv/2011/03/08/set-fire-workout/). A few new exercises in this one. I liked the variation on the mountain climbers.... the mountain climber lunges. Since I absolutely hate mtn. climbers, the lunges stuck in there made them a bit more bearable. The sliding push ups were also new, but tough! I was surprised when I attempted the first one, how hard they really were. Despite that, I did manage to do them all without going to my knees. The new core exercise, the scissor crunches, really fatigued my abs.
Workout: Intervals 10/30, Repeat 4xs, 16 Min
1. Mountain Jump Lunges
2. Sliding Push Ups
3. Mountain Jump Lunges
4. Scissor Crunch
5. Mountain Jump Lunges
6. Reverse Push Ups (low rows) with Knee Tuck (used the TRX)
This was a moderate workout.... I think adding a 5th round would have made it moderate to high just because of the increased fatigue over time.
After resting a few minutes, I added some pull ups today as well. I did 3 sets with the following reps, 7, 7, 5.5 (I had to call the last rep a 1/2 because I couldn't quite get my chin over the bar. I wanted to cheat and call it a full rep, but it really wasn't). This was a new breakthrough for me. I know I've never done two sets of 7 in one day, and I don't even think I've ever even done as many total pull ups as I did today.... YEAH!
