Tomorrow will be a rest day for me so today ends my week of workouts. Yesterday I did 6 rounds of the Real Hot Wo from Bodyrock.tv. This was a 10/50 interval workout with only 3 different exercises.
1. 1-Leg Squat (pistol) and Jump Tuck
2. Santana Zuzana Push-Up
3. Side Jump and Side Lunge
This wasn't a super tough cardio workout but the pistol squat really pushes my limits.... as in I can't really do them but I pretend:). I actually discovered I can get all the way down in a pistol but can't get back up. So I only went down as far as I could to still be able to get back up.
Today I did a workout of my own. It is pretty similar to one I did a while back. I kept the same format but changed some of the exercises up a bit.
Part 1: 10/20 sec. intervals. Repeat circuit twice
1. Power Jumping Jacks (killer!)
2. Snowboarder Jumps
3. Turkish Get Up (10lb)
4. Forward/Backward Jump Touch Down
Part 2: 15/45sec. inervals. Repeat circuit twice.
1. TRX Tricep Presses
2. TRX Low Rows
3. Elevated Cross Knee Tucks
4. Dancing Crab
5. Push Up w/ Side Jump
6. Plank Elbow to Knee Tuck
Repeat Part 1.
The tabata intervals were tough (as exptected). However, I don't think the Turkish Get Ups are quite as well suited to a quick Tabata style move as the other, jumping type exercises I chose. This workout went by really quick and I liked how I had a bit more toning work sandwiched between the two tough cardio segments. I definitely like this set up and plan to use it again. In fact, it might rival my couplet setup for being one of my favorites.
