A Couple of Nice Workouts

Yesterday I did a workout from the fitmiss.tv site.  It was the Metabolic Insantity workout (http://fitmiss.tv/index.php/workitbaby/bodyweight/44-metabolic-insanity) and had a nice mix of jumps to keep the heartrate up and planks to work the core.  It was a short workout, only 16 minutes, but a pretty good total body workout.

Today I couldn't find a workout that excited me so I made up my own.  It is similar to what I did with my sil while on vacation but a few different exercises. The workout consisted of 10 different exercises. I did each exercise for 2 minutes using a 10sec/50sec interval split. For the side step ups and side jump lunges, I only did 1 minute per leg so 2 minutes total for the exercise. The exercises I chose were:

1. 10 High Knees/Drop Down
2. Side Step Ups
3. Reverse Knee Tucks
4. Side Jump Lunges
5. Elevated Push Ups with Cross Knee Tuck
6. Ninja Jump Tucks
7. Prisoner Squats with Cross Knee Raise
8. 1-Leg Tricep Push Ups
9. Hanging Knee Raises
10. Oblique Plank to Pike Jump

I was sweating buckets by the time the 20 minutes was up. I really liked this workout since there was quite a bit of cardio but I was also able to add some tougher arm exercises (the push up variations) so that my arms got a bit of work without slowing down the workout. I also added the hanging knee raises because I hate them and while I was working out with my sil last week she commented how she needs someone to push her to do the types of exercises she needs most because those are the ones she hates to do. I realized I do the same.... I don't like the knee raises and hate pull ups even more. So I'm going to try to start adding one or the other to my workouts to see if I can improve on them.
