A Week of Workouts

Ahhh, it has been a week since I posted my workouts.  We've been pretty busy with the start of our new school year and I guess I haven't made time to blog about my workouts.  So, here it goes:

Today:
Bodyrock Crazy Home Bootcamp Wo
This had a few fun, new moves.  I really liked the Crazy Bootcamp Exercise and the Side burpees were a interesting variation on regular burpees.  I also got creative in my substitute for a sandbag..... I used the new, 35 lb. bag of dog food I bought for Jake yesterday!  I won't be able to use it again because I needed to open it to feed him tonight..... but it worked in a pinch.  I did change the workout slightly by adding a second round of the Crazy Bootcamp Exercise to each circuit and completed 4 circuits instead of 3 to make the wo a little over 18 minutes.  Overall, I think the variety in exercises didn't make me feel complete burnout but my HR was up to 160BPM by the end.... so I must have been working pretty hard.

Yesterday:
Bodyrock Fat Fighter Wo
I added a second round of Part 1 of this workout to increase the time again.  The plyo exercises really fried my legs.

Sunday:
Bodyrock Sweet Punishment Wo
I also added a second round of Part 1 to this workout as well.  Part 2 took me 9:49 to complete so the total wo was 17:49 and my HR was 150BPM at the end.

Saturday:
Day off

Friday:
Today was another couplet style workout, similar to the one I loved so much the other day (I have to give a shout out to fitmiss for opening my eyes to doing exercises in couplets.... I really like them!). Today I changed the interval to 20/40 instead of the 10/30 and only did 2 rounds of each couplet instead of 3 to keep the workout at 20minutes.

1a. Dynamic Squats
1b. Diver Bombers

2a. Ninja Jump Tucks
2b. Swimmer Push Ups

3a. Get Down/Get Ups
3b. Plank Ups

4a. Side Crab Walk w/ Jump Up
4b. Maltese Sit Up

5a. 4-Square Jumps
5b. 3-way Push ups

Overall, this was a pretty easy workout. The hardest for me were the 3-way push ups at the end. I'm not sure if it was because they were at the end of the workout or because they included tricep push ups and my triceps are feeling major DOMs from yesterday. I've been kind of slacking on doing pull ups so I added 3 sets of 4 to the end of the workout. I also managed to stick in a quick 30 minutes of yoga later in the afternoon.

Thursday:
I played around today with doing dumbell swings to simulate kb (I'm getting closer to caving!). I did single handed swings. I can definitely see how this could be a good all-in-one exercise.... cardio and strength! I had no idea what weight to use or how many to do but here is what I ended up with:

1. Rt. handed swings-25
2. TRX Tricep Presses-25
3. Left handed swings-25
4. TRX T,I,Y's-25
5. Rt. handed swings-25
6. TRX Low Rows-25
7. Left handed swings-25
8. Hand to foot ball transfer-25
9. Rt. handed swings-25
10.Staggered push-ups-25
11. Left handed swings-25

I repeated the entire circuit 2xs and it took me 21:57

Wednesday:
Fitmiss's Butt and Gutt 500 Rep wo.   Lots of lunges and squats.......my legs felt very rubbery when I was done!  Unfortunately, I think I tweaked my knee a bit doing the lunges.
